Operant Conditioning And Shaping

Dictionary.com defines Operant Condtioning as a process of changing behavior by rewarding or punishing a subject each time an action is performed until the subject associates the action with pleasure or distress.

Dog training now a days focuses on rewarding more than punishing because the animal is more willing to repeat a behavior if it's rewarded. In this video Dr. Yin shows how to use reward to train her dog. She never physically touches the animal or physically manipulates it.
