It is hard to get your dog to stand up from a sitting position. Stand is a useful command when you don't want the dog in a sitting or laying position. But when dogs learn to sit, they tend to want to go that position and not remain standing. Instead of jerking your dog with the leash or physically lifting them to stand you can simple drop the treat on the floor. In order to get the treat they will have to simply rise to a standing postion. I have included a little video I have done.
